Pivoting in Pink: When One Door Closes, Add Glitter and Build Another

Sometimes life hands you exciting opportunities. Sometimes life hands you surprise plot twists with absolutely no warning.

Recently, I got the news that Painted Tree was closing, which means I would also have to close my booth there. To be honest, it stung. If you’ve ever poured your heart into a space, curated every detail, celebrated every sale, and built connections with customers and fellow vendors, then you know it’s never just a booth. It becomes part of your story.

For a moment, I felt disappointed. Maybe a little dramatic. Maybe a little “stare into the distance while holding my latte” energy.

But then I remembered something important:

Closing one chapter doesn’t mean the story is over. It means it’s time for a better one.

As a small business owner, pivoting isn’t optional—it’s part of the job description. You learn to adapt, reimagine, and keep moving even when the path changes unexpectedly. So instead of focusing on what was ending, I started focusing on what was possible.

That means more energy poured into my online boutique, fresh new arrivals, stronger connections with customers online, and exciting ideas I may not have explored otherwise. Sometimes the push you didn’t ask for becomes the nudge you needed.

There’s something powerful about rebuilding with intention. About choosing growth instead of defeat. About putting on lip gloss, fixing your crown, and getting back to work.

To everyone navigating an unexpected change right now: you are allowed to be disappointed. But don’t stay there too long. Grieve it, then glam up and pivot.

Because success doesn’t always look like sticking to the original plan.

Sometimes it looks like starting fresh—with better lighting.

Thank you to everyone who supported my booth, shopped local, and cheered me on. This next chapter is for you too.

And trust me… I’m just getting started. ✨
